Keith & Christine Hayward are Proprietors of Lincluden Nursery which, until recently, was the home of a conifer nursery of national repute. They are now gradually redeveloping the nursery for Cannas which are unjustifiably under-rated in the UK. This they will seek to remedy in their illustrated talk. They have also founded a Canna Group for enthusiasts. Their web-site is:- http://www.hartcanna.com/whois.htm
The Chairman and Lectures Secretary of our Society have both heard them speak and have visited their private garden where they hold the National Collection of Cannas (NCCPG). We have no hesitation in recommending the talk both to Members of the Society and to visitors.

As a footnote, one of the main breeding areas of the world is the USA where a large number of hybrid cultivars are being produced. Cannas have generally a long season of flowering, each succession of blooms arising at higher points on the stems so that, by the end of a season, the plant may be as high as 6ft. The Haywards will no doubt bring plants for purchase.
